Looking Back and Looking Ahead
We hope you all had a safe and happy New Years. As we head into a new year, we wanted to ask all of you to pause and look back while also looking ahead.
For some, 2025 might have been a year to forget. It may not have been the year you hoped personally or professionally. Your mental health journey might have hit more bumps than you expected. And sometimes having such a negative year can put a damper on your spirit moving forward.
Or perhaps 2025 was full of highlights. Maybe you are hopeful and eager to continue that momentum into another calendar year.
Whatever the case, 2025 is over. It is wrong to think 2026 will be the same, for better or worse, as 2025. Yet that doesn’t mean it is something to simply forget. Even if you had a year of struggles, there are often moments of light and positivity, even if you have to dig and search for it.
Finding those moments of light can help you reframe the year and can help you adjust your mindset as you head into a new year. And if your year had lots of moments, it can serve as an opportunity to practice gratitude and ground yourself in positivity entering a new year. Reframing your mindset, regardless of what the past had to offer, can be an important step for your mental well-being journey.
We’ve been there. We know how easy it can be to see only gloom in your rear view mirror or to find your feet leaving the ground as you are on cloud nine after a great year. Yet both mindsets can set you up for a rocky start to 2026, albeit for different reasons. Yet maintaining a grounded attitude can set you up to move forward in your mental health journey (while remembering of course that recovery is never linear). And we can help. So if you need support, know that you are not alone and that we are here for you.
And Happy New Year!
