A Day for Love and Self-Care

Today is Valentine’s Day. A day for love, whether it is friendship, family, or romantic. And it is important to take time to recognize the love we have in our lives. Yet any day of love has to start with loving yourself. And loving yourself starts with self-care.

Self-care and self-love are important building blocks for your mental health, as well as for future relationships. And while it might seem natural for some, it can be very challenging for others.

Too often legal professionals might struggle with depression, anxiety, impostor syndrome, addiction, or some other challenge that gets in the way of their ability to love themselves or fully appreciate the value of self-care.

If you are in that camp, know that you are not alone. Positive affirmations can be a helpful tool for many, as can therapy and peer support that helps re-direct negative thinking.
